Always leaning into an outspoken color palette and crisp imagery, Katie Homan's work invites conversations about why God is viewed in ways that are predictably serene and graceful. She aims to reintroduce Christ by celebrating His boundless creativity and His undeniable imagination. Homan believes that millions of people have lost the notion that God is bold, eccentric, and weird. Glossing over this fact has put God in a soft-spoken, pastel-colored box. Her aim is to revise that perception and connect those, who believe their personality, identity, and style cannot align with Christianity, to the Savior. Homan is a modern artist whose work explores stories of temptation, pursuits of Earthy pleasure, identity, and the good anchor of God. Notable galleries in which her work has been exhibited include Shrine, NYC; Neon Heater, Findlay, Ohio; Locust Projects, Miami Florida; Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum, Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a lively studio practice in the perfectly rural town of New Bremen, Ohio.

Armor Can Have Ruffles

This series presents the Armor of God in a way that's vivacious, uplifting, and flooded with personality. The large scale painted works are organically shaped and can be endlessly orchestrated into different positions. Folded, gathered, twisted, and layered; each piece can be reimagined and secured in place with jumbo "pinning pucks". This malleability symbolizes the Lord molding and guiding us.

Souls

Shoes are a staple in most every wardrobe and, in this series, it serves as a vibrant symbol that the Lord walks with us through the maze of experiences, situations, celebrations, and devastations. He walks with us through all manners of this Earthly life.
